I was lucky enough to get my hands on a G42 from a friend at a local gun shop, High Mountain Hunting Supply. The buzz brought up the shortage of the .380auto, which has become as rare as the .22lr in my area at the moment, I'd still personally prefer to keep a stack of 9mm. For now, however, the G42 is hard to pass up, and I'd encourage everyone to try it on for size. Just be aware of its flaws, lower your expectations for initial performance and maybe, the one you take home will work just as well.

The recoil of this gun is very less. My kids, who are 9-12 years old, shoot with me and have no problem shooting. My oldest shoots G26 and G23/G19 (I have a conversion barrel...thanks!) and prefers to shoot the G42 because of the low recoil.

Glock 42 - Definitely use the new "03" magazines and be careful with this skinny little gun, you'll probably have your thumbs stuck in the slide or top of the slide. I had to add Hogue's sticky 42 questions to avoid. Since then I have been shooting without problems.

Personally, I always try to test the handgun by firing it to help determine if the thumb is interfering with my hand.

And the more ammo in a class, the more picky the gunner will become. I only shoot Federal in my G42 for both targeting and self defense.

The G42 is not micro. It was my old LCP. The G42 is about the size of the G43, but less weight.

I sold the first 42. I always thought I could get another one. It is a group. Since I've had it, I've fired about 500 rounds of ammo. 300 hollow points round. That gun was accurate. 25 Paulinus's heads were easily beaten. Non-dependent hand group. It never got stuck once. So when I bought another one, I used the 42 at a good price. GLOCK's nDLC provides stronger, more durable protection than previously used coatings. NDLC coatings are specific to the GLOCK manufacturing process. The NDLC coating adds corrosion and scratch protection and improves the gun's ability to operate in degreasing or adverse conditions. NDLC skins are currently exclusive to Gen5 pistols.

The new GLOCK Gen5 magazine features an orange linker and an extended front plate for faster magazine changes.

Each GLOCK Gen4 and Gen5 model comes with two sizes of harness, each with or without beavertails. The multi-strap frame allows users to vary the grip circumference to suit their individual hand size.

The magazine latch on Gen4 and Gen5 frames is reversible and expands toward the rear of the pistol. The reversible magazine latch is more user-friendly for the shooter and allows them to change the latch to the left or right side of the pistol.
